Section 19 of the Right to Information Act, 2005 provides for the appeal procedure. If the Public Information Officer (PIO) denies information or fails to provide it within the prescribed period, citizens can file a first appeal with a senior officer (First Appellate Authority). If not satisfied thereafter, citizens can file a second appeal with the Central or State Information Commission (Second Appellate Authority).माहिती अधिकार अधिनियम, २००५ मधील कलम १९ हे अपिलाच्या प्रक्रियेची तरतूद करते. जन माहिती अधिकाऱ्याने (PIO) माहिती नाकारल्यास किंवा विहित मुदतीत न दिल्यास नागरिक वरिष्ठ अधिकाऱ्याकडे (प्रथम अपिलीय अधिकारी) प्रथम अपील करू शकतात. त्यानंतर समाधानी नसल्यास नागरिक केंद्रीय किंवा राज्य माहिती आयोगाकडे (द्वितीय अपिलीय अधिकारी) द्वितीय अपील करू शकतात.
